At the top of this hill Jamacho temple is situated as a result Nagarjuna hill is also known as Jamacho peak. Nagarjun hill is famous for Buddhist Gompa, sacred caves and amazing scenery. This hill derived its name from the cave where Acharya Nagarjuna used to meditate. It is located at North West direction of Kathmandu. The distance is just about 7km away from Kathmandu. This place is located under Shivapuri National Park (closest National Park of Kathmandu). Therefore one can get tremendous amount of watching different species of bird, animals and plants. A huge feast is held only once in a year which is absolutely amazing. It will be great with fun and joy if encountered by any luck. If gone through any vehicle it is just about 45 minutes drive from Kathmandu.

General description of Trek

Day Hiking trip to Nagarjun hill starts after 30 minutes of drive from Kathmandu. The hike is around 5km which is about 4 to 5 hours of walk. We will pass through Shivapuri National Park (closest National Park of Kathmandu) and slowly move upwards following a trial. Day hiking trip to Nagarjuna hill offers you with view of some beautiful snowy peaks such as Dorji Lhakpa, Ganesh Himal, Langtang-Lirung and amazing landscape. We can encounter different species of birds, animals and plants. After being in Nagarjun hill a short rest and excursion around the surrounding drive back to Kathmandu by private Vehicle.
