Kathmandu is a very beautiful valley surrounded by green hills and some majestic whit peaks. It is situated at an elevation of 1336 meters / 4400 feet above sea level. Kathmandu valley is a city full of ancient historic palaces, courtyards, carvings, colorful life and many others. According to the local mythology Kathmandu was once a big pond called Nagdaha because of the presence of the snakes in the pond, it was then cut drained by the Buddhist follower named Bodhisatwa Manjusri. Kathmandu deirived its name from the temple called Kasthamandap where “kastha” meaning wood and “mandap” meaning shelter from Sanskrit, the temple that was built using the wood of one single tree during Malla Dynasty, according to the legends. It is easy to be overwhelmed by the beauty of Kathmandu. This city is an exotic and fascinating showcase of a very rich culture, art and tradition as the valley is encircled by a range of green terraced hills and if lucky can have glimpse of Mt. Everest too. Although Nepal being a Hindu kingdom, Kathmandu has diverse culture and religion offering vast range of Hindus temple, Buddhist Stupas and Durbar Squares with its own unique hand-craft architectures. Kathmandu valley provides you with many tourist destinations to visit and explore. The valley is full of wonders and attractions. General description of Tour:

Flight over Himalaya Duration: 1 hour Before breakfast we will drive to airport for a Mountain flight. It is a much easier way to see the majestic Nepali Himalayan peaks. The flight takes you within camera range of some of the highest peaks in the world, and cruising this close to the awesome inspiring massifs of rock and ice is an out of this world experience and this memories is something that you will cherish for the rest of your life. This one hour mountain flight offers the most spectacular and closest possible aerial view of world’s highest mountain including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m) and dozens of other such peaks.

Kathmandu Valley city sightseeing: Pashupatinath: pick you up from your hotel and drive to Pashupatinath, situated 5 km east of Kathmandu. The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a religious scared site of Hindus, the oldest Hindu temple in the District. Sightseeing of the temple, the pagodas, the scared religious linga (symbol of Hindu God lord Shiva}, temples of many Hindu deities, ancient idols and sculpture with river Bagmati flowing on its side, enrolling in the list of UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979.

Boudhanath stupa: You will then visit Boudhanath, which lays 3kms east of Pashupati. This ancient Buddhist stupa is one of the biggest in the world and is enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage site. The 36-meter-high stupa of Bouddhanath is one of the largest stupas in South Asia. It is also enlisted in world heritage site by UNESCO. Bouddhanath Stupa was renovated by Licchavi rulers in the eighth century. The mandala design in Bouddhanath is a copy of the one in Gyangtse in Tibet but is worth watching.

Swayambhunath: After lunch we will go to Swoyambhunath stupa, very religious site of Buddhist people. It is also said to be 2000 years old, located at the west of Kathmandu. Next you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square where you will see the nine-storied Basantapur Durbar (palace), the house of the Living Goddess Kumari {kumari Ghar}, the ferocious Kal Bhairab, the red monkey god, and hundreds of erotic carvings, Museum and so on.
